Keeping a close watch on environment protection
The protection of the environment and of the climate and the economical use of natural resources are among the most important tasks of our time. If also coming generations are supposed to grow up in a livable environment, we all have to participate actively in the design of eco-friendly economic processes.
As the Leschaco Group we are aware of this responsibility. By a continuous improvement of those of our processes that are relevant to the environment we want to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of people all over the world, now and in the future.
Leschaco’s management and employees therefore jointly made the decision that the applying standards of environment protection shall be respected for all business activities. It is our aim to design all business activities in such a way that aspects with relevance to the environment will be considered for all planning and that they will be integrated into the defined processes.
Our Road to Zero
As a logistics company, a sustainable approach to our environment is particularly important to us. Reducing our greenhouse gas emissions to a minimum and investing in environmental projects are a personal concern of ours and an important part of our 2030 strategy.
In order to continuously improve, our global CO2e footprint is recorded annually. Based on the results, we work with climate experts to develop measures to reduce our direct and indirect emissions.
We already purchase electricity from renewable energy sources in all our companies in the EMEAI region. The Americas and APAC will follow by 2027 at the latest. Not only are we investing in the conversion of our company vehicle fleet and the installation of charging stations for electric cars, we are also incentivizing climate-neutral mobility for our employees. Both on business trips and on their way to work.
As a logistics company, we are aware that a large proportion of our indirect emissions are caused by transportation. As NVOCC, we are in constant communication with our service providers and are actively driving change in our industry. We already offer our customers a transparent overview of their transport emissions on our Visible Portal and provide advice on environmentally friendly alternatives.
